THE WATER DEPTH, THE MAKEUP OF THE BOTTOM AT THAT POINT, THE NUMBER OF PHYTOPLANKTON NEAR THE SURFACE, THESE AND MORE CAUSE A SHIFT IN COLORATION OF THE OCEANS WATER.

The depth and/or make up of the sand below. Shallow white sand below will appear light green while deep oceans will look darker blue.

Abundant plankton, especially phytoplankton which photosynthesizes, color the ocean due to the Green pigment of chlorophyll.
