The world would be so much better. I think every state that has hicks needs to disappear. I'm talking real hicks.

The song "Midnight in Montgomery" would never have been written.

We'd lose Redstone Arsenal, the Army's missle and rocket center where the Jupiter-C rocket was developed that launched America's first satellite into space.

Booker T. Washington started the Civil Rights Movement in Alabama.

You'd be able to drive from Jackson, Mississippi to Atlanta faster. But Georgia and Mississippi would just try harder to keep Southern "values," so the net gain would be minimal. I recommended making Alabama a province of Miinnesota - then you'd see some changes...

I think it would be about the same as well. Not that I care for Alabama too much, but they're not as awful as they used to be(unlike Mississippi)

we wouldn't have some of the southern food we have now, sweet home alabama wouldn't be a song, it probably would be sweet home texas, that just doesn't sound the same. As a southern girl myself I would be deeply disturbed, now if some parts of louisiana would disappear (i.e: Jena), that would just be great.

The average IQ in the United States would go up about 10 points. The average number of obese individuals in the United States would drop about 10 points. Children would be better educated. Different ethnicities would get along better. Racism and country music would be on the ropes. Bottom line, America would be better off.

It would not be that much different.
There would have been one less state that seceded from the Union.
One less state that violated people's civil rights.
That's about it.
