why is it worse for a woman to have an abusive husband than a man to have an abusive wife?

there is a lot of help and publicity available for abused women but very little for abused men. why is this?

Both can be extremely damaging, but I think that the reason there is more public support for women is that most abusive husbands use their fists and cause physical harm, even death. Abusive wives CAN be physically aggressive, but many are also more emotionally abusive, so there's nothing to be seen from the abuse on the outside.

Part of the secrecy may also be male pride: many men are embarrassed to say a woman abuses them, even though they may be hurting deeply.

I can think of one man that has admitted to being abused in a relationship. I have met many women who were in abusive relationships even if they don't want to admit it. The fact that women admit it more makes resources cater toward women.

Generally men are larger and stronger and it is easier for them hurt women. Besides it's not something that men seem to want to admit-- "the wife is beating me up."

Because women are perceived as physically less capable of doing damage to men than vice versa..a debatable point. Both situations are jacked up and shouldn't happen; loving someone should keep you from ever putting your hands on them in a hostile way, and no one should have to fight for their lives at home.

It is equally wrong in any situation kids included....But, people tend to think of woman as the weaker vessel...And i think that's why because most woman can not over power a man by strength. But shame on her too and she should go to jail.
