Our universe is based in fundamental physical laws. One is the Law of Attraction, and it can be summed up in brief: Like Attracts Like. There is nothing mysterious about it; it is a law of physics. Most people believe they are "victims" of this world and continually wonder "why me?" What they do not realize is that we are all co-creators of our existence. Everything that has ever happened to us or ever will happen to us is a direct result of our energy and how we manage it.

The Law of Attraction works in accordance with all the other universal laws. For example, it is intimately intertwined with the Law of Cause and Effect (which many people simply call "karma"). Whatever kind of energy you put out into the world (including action and intent), you will receive back to you. It is like the old saying: "What comes around goes around." What you "put out," you get back. However, the Law of Attraction makes us realize none of us are victims. We are all responsible for our happiness, our prosperity, or lack thereof. Our goal is to teach people how to live in harmony with the universe and use this law to their advantage so they will live more fulfilled lives.

Another reason this community is based in the Law of Attraction is to reach both spiritual and non-spiritual people alike. It is an undeniable law of the universe that has been scientifically proven. As early as the 1930s, scientists have photographed thoughts and found that positive thoughts have a higher vibrational rate than negative thoughts. Additionally, it has been proven that two tuning forks that are on the same wavelength will respond to each other even if they are separated by a great distance (Grabhorn, 2001). This type of scientific evidence will help even atheists believe that the Law of Attraction is already at work in their lives. All you need to do is learn how to harness its power to help create a world that is happy and prosperous. That is the goal of this community: to raise the consciousness of the world and teach people to be co-creators of their existence.

You mean the law of gravitation?

Well. In science you can never prove anything. But you can disprove things that ain't so.

In case of gravity details matter. If you modify the 1/r potential even a tiny bit, planetary orbits will look very different from what we observe. One of these observations was the perihelion drift of Mercury.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tests_of_general_relativity
http://www.math.toronto.edu/~colliand/426_03/Papers03/C_Pollock.pdf

It lead to the development of general relativity by Einstein which not only properly predicts the right Mercury orbit but also has a slew of cosmological consequences and explains neutron stars, pulsar and black holes, all of which have been observed. Newton's theory would be unable to re-produce these objects theoretically.

Precision test of relativity can be done e.g. on binary pulsars:

http://www.astrophysicsspectator.com/topics/generalrelativity/TestBinaryPulsar.html

So the short answer is that Newton's law of gravitation has been disproved. But at the same time it also has to be proven more correct because it is the right limit theory to general relativity in a certain approximation and general relativity is a fabulously well tested theory.

In hard science good theories rarely die, they just become special cases of better theories. This is probably the best example of such an event.

There is no such thing as "scientifically proven," only scientifically accepted theory.

What law of attraction? Gravitation? Electric? Romantic?

There are people who constantly complain that they have nothing but bad luck, they're always ill, no money, blah blah blah. It's true because they send that negativity out to the universe and it boomerangs right back to them. I've seen someone like that change their thinking and their life changed in harmony. That's proof enough for me, personally. This was way before the Secret or the Law of Attraction or What the Bleep...ever came out.

There is no such thing as the law of attraction. The human physiology and the mind is shaped by the society. And clearly we can't own anything simply by thinking about it. "If wishes were horses beggars would ride." As simple as that. The law of attraction only attracts the "LAZY" fat ***. I think it is just another substitute of fantasy.

There is no "law of attraction" in "real" science. The answer above tells me you might get better, or at least more, answers in the "Alternative" section instead of the "Astronomy & Space" section.
