Hai my name is T.Tejender Singh.
I will say regarding your question that,
It happens when the people dream of it like i will give an example that the film krish which you have mentioned above it is story of a person who has been gifted by some ealiean some thing like that. But according to me most of the people watch these films when they get some feed back from there relatives, friends, and etc.,
These is not even 1% true that the sole is common for all the human beeings if it is so then how we can cheat, rob, kill ourselves.
I will clear your doubt by the current example:-
A begger watch the films thinking that yaar why cant i can live
like hero
A sady person see the film to forgot is all sadness
A rich person see it because he cannot spend money on the things which are done by hero and heroine!
At last i wanted say one thing that we watch the films not that
we have same perview for it. we watch because we want to live in that manner which is not possible.
so, we enjoy by seen the film.
so, it is noting but a kind of satisfying ourself.
I think my answer should clear it.
I cant give you more explanation to it.
Becuse i am very busy at present
Expecting you have got your ans wer!
Have a Proporous life

It's a question of themes and formulas that people respond to.
1) Stories with forgiveness always hit home. People are looking for unconditional love, someone to be the bigger person that they can rely on, and unconditional love. That's why Christianity is so big. That's why old men cry at the end of the musical Lew Miserables.
2) Love and romance are universal
3) morality is universal
4) a lust for violence is universal
5) people's minds are programmed to solve problems as they come along. Watching a plot or story resolve itself after suspense is very satisfying to the human mind
add some of these things, plus some of the others I haven't included, and people eat it up.
I would not agree that we are one soul. That's a belief of a religion I don't belong to. I think that we all want the same things, because we were created to want the same things.

Not everyone relates to all these films the same. Someone like me would be more critical, and not like the moral messages hidden in the films, or how the charcter are portrayed, or how the world's problems are presented in a lot of these films. Not all reaction to the films will be the same. And a lively debate could result similar to that we have in yahoo answers, if you ask how people reacted to different parts of different movies. The west does seem to over stress the importrance of the individual spirit. But individual spirits do exist even, if there are strong spiritual connections that hold us together to some degree. I wish these connections between spirits would get stronger, but this will not happen unless people work at getting over all the unnecessary differences they have, and become more open to what they share in common..

No, we are not one soul in many bodies, I don't agree to that idea.
When a person/people like a movie, and it becomes a "super duper hit" there are certain common elements in it. Some of the ones I can list here are;
(a) How it connects / relates to the audience (feelings that all of us have, as human beings)
(b) Reflects "real-life" that one knows it already exists or OR "imaginary-situations" that look 'really-possible'
(c) Movie has sufficient entertainment, without an over-dose of it
(d) The story, the dialogues, and the settings are finely planned, directed, acted, edited, and delivered to the audience as a well-done (perfect?) movie.
I don't make movies but....... I feel, imagine, speak, write, and sometimes share.
Let me know what you felt about this one.

A recall from Muslim Philosophy: "Allah had breathed a 'soul' out of His Souls" into every child, while in womb, about 4 months after conception". So, each soul being from Him yearns to go back home, possible at death only. * As we all have a commonly shared home, we have many similarities than dis-similarities. The Story-writers are mature professionals. They know the story, out of many stories of humanity, that will appeal the millions.
Kind regards

For being as you say big films I only recognize 2 of them. They sound obscure and I have not heard a thing about them.
I do not believe we are one soul. But we are all humans and have a the emotional responses that others can have. Like seeing a baby smile usually will make 99% of people smile. Seeing a child abused will make as many Angry. So it doesn't seem strange at all that millions of people can be touched by a film.

Because a movie has situations in it that are familiair to people(lovestories, problems with work saving people fromburning buildings oh no, not that one).
Or it contains a shared picture of idealism. Like the ideal human: superman. So we have one soul, but only in certain ways. Our thoughts about what's good and evil, about love and friends. But personal stories are never really interesting as a movie unless it contains one of the "shared" factors. You won't see a movie without one of these: heroism, love, friends, couarge/wit.

we live in this world as a society,we are directly or indirectly bonded not that we share same soul but we ar bonded with the other things like:
definitions we give for every feeling whether its love, violence, success, and etc.everybody secretly deisre to have psychic or paranormail abilities.
everybody wants to fall in love or want to be loved.
we call a successful person only if he has name, fame and money.nobody call a guy in slum a successfull person because he's satisfied with his life.
we feel we are one because we share the same thoughts.

The San people of South Africa shared their DNA with all modern humanity. Even though DNA is not everything, it sets up common predispositions. Clever artists know what those are.
