Curt Schilling was 9-8 with a era of 3.87 and was paid $13,000,000 dollars. That's 1,444,444 dollars per win.

He won only 9 games pitching behind a Red Sox offense who own the World Series. How much is he worth at the age of 41?

He listed these as teams he would play for. In knowing Schilling's ego we know he wants to be the ace more than likey. Most of these teams have the ace pitcher with the exception of a few.
Boston - Beckett
Cleveland - Sabathia
Detroit - Verlander
Anaheim - No real ace
New York Mets - No real ace
Philadelphia - Hamels
Atlanta - Hudson
L.A. - Schmidt
S.D. - Peavy
Arizona - Webb
Chicago Cubs - Zambrano
St. Louis - Ro real ace
Milwaukee - No real ace
New York Yankees - Wang
( Yes, hes said he would not rule them out )

I don't consider Sheets and Lackey tru ace even though they are the #1 starters on their respective teams.

Wow.

His results were very mediocure for a man that has the experience and researches opposing teams that much. He's getting up there and didn't come out stong for a few consecutive starts until late in the season.

I don't think he is worth that much. It looks to me that he is past his prime at 41. Plus the Sox are still left with Beckett, Lester, Dice-K, Wakefeild, Buchholtz, Taveraz etc. and those are just the starters.

Cleveland is attempting to sign Sabathia. In the past, John Hart wanted Schilling and Schilling said no to the Indians so funny he has them on his list now and they probably are not interested. Mark Shapiro is looking to get a longterm deal done with Sabathia plus the Indians have a young starter in Aaron Laffey plus Adam Miller who is ready to come up from the minors. I am sure the Indians are not interested in paying 13 mil for one year to Schilling. Not with trying to sign Sabathia. We wanted you in the past, Curt, but take your old butt somewhere else now.

I would say that he goes to Tampa for around 10 million to mentor the young pitchers. He may get 9 mill offers from other teams to be their #3 or 4.

He's not even an ace pitcher, he's a 3rd at best. I can't imagine the Sox resigning him. I really hope they don't. I've heard he's heading down to Tampa Bay to be with the rest of the old people in Florida.

Thanks for the championships Curt, but its time to go

Don’t be surprised if the Mets have an interest. It’s not like they haven’t hired 40-something players before. (And having a few World Series rings never hurts in negotiations!)

Personally, I'd say 10 mil plus incentives.

I wouldn't pursue him. He is not a #1 pitcher anymore even though I think that what he wants to be but he should just retire. He is a #3 or #4 pitcher in a rotation. You had a good career, let it go now.

For his age and experience(like Kenny Rogers) I would pay him 12 million at the most,..Santana will get 20-25 million from someone....Schilling to the Angels is my best bet( or Phillies if they want him for old time sake)

I think both the Angels and the Brewers have an ace (Lackey and Sheets), but I don't see him as getting more than $6 mil plus incentives. I still think Philly. If he thinks he's still an ace, he's mistaken.

I don't have enough money for any player, let alone Curt Schilling, nut that will be a lot of money, that GM would wonder if it is worth having him on his team.

He wants a 1 year contract and starting pitching free agents are down this year, like every year. He will go to the Cards for $12mil. he definitely doesnt deserve that, but they need pitching and their new GM will be throwin some cash around.
