I think it was Odysseus whose tragic flaw was his big ego.

Achilles was doomed by the gods because, after slaying the Trojan hero Hector, he desecrated the body by dragging it around the city several times to demoralize the populace. The gods were outraged that he did not allow the noble Hector a dignified death.

He believed he was too good to need the help of the gods. The gods punished his hubris by a nemesis of leaving a vulnerable part in his physique, his heel. The gods thought this was funny.
