a rare cancerous tumour of the ovary is the only thing....
BACKGROUND: 12 women were diagnosed of having postgestational choriocarcinoma on the basis of persistently positive human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test results in the absence of pregnancy. Most of the women had extirpative surgery or chemotherapy, or both, without significant diminution in hCG titre. Our aim was to assess whether the hCG concentrations were false-positive test results.
I HATE people who talk BEFORE researching....

They do not. Cysts do not produce hormones. Theyre like sores on your ovaries or uterus.
Positive is positive. Unless you're on hormone therapies or steroids that come with a label stating they cause false positives.

Certain types of cancer can. I don't know if cyst have any straight forward symptoms but if your concerned you should talk to your doctor about doing an ultrasound to check for abnormallities.

If you had a positive pregnancy test then its because youre pregnant, you cant get a false positive, so you'd better get to your doctors.

nope nothing else. It is testing for HCG which your body produces all the time but the levels get much higher in pregnancy.

i read that exposure to mouse droppings can cause a false positive. the levels would be so low, only detectable on a blood test, definitely not hpt.

Not true.
You can get a false negative but not a false positive. It's it's positive, your definately pregnant, theres no other cause.
