To me it means that you feel so weighless as in flying with emotions. A desire makes you feel like your feet are off the ground a feeling of love that makes your heart flutter.

Wings of Desire is the expression which embodies the idea that we can only be really free if we could defy the physical laws of nature. So, if we were able to fly, if we could keep only the best of us, our intellect, our intelligence, our understanding of life, and yet have the advantages of a dove or an eagle, we would surely feel freer. Wouldn't that be nice?

Desire, of course, being simply an emotion, responds to the concept we have accepted, even if only for an instance, of freedom, of reality, of life. Once we notice the contradictions, with our intellect, desire or the "Wings of Desire" becomes less appealing and plainly riduculous.

How could we be partly human and partly eagle, without devouring the heart of a lamb for breakfast? How could we sustain ourselves as intellectual beings flying to the top of mountains and down to the sea without the need for writing, reading, an education and a comfortable apartment or house to live in?

Reason is often hated by the dreamers because it points out the nature of some dreams: bad thinking that contradicts the laws of reality.

Even though the wings already have enough solid dmen lined up for next season i would really like to see them bring stuart back. He really helped to round off the wings defense and gave them what i think was the strongest defense pairs in the leauge (lidstrom-rafalski, kronwall-stuart, lebda-chelios/lilja) Stuart helped to bring up a physical presence to the wings defense (the only other really physical dman was kronwall before stuart arrived) i think chelios wont play as many games as last year if he does return so the wings could only benefit to have another strong veteran dman *** and it looks like stuart was just resigned by the red wings to a 4yr deal on july 1st ***

One of the best films I've ever seen. There are scenes in
it that will stay in my mind and heart forever. The angels
in the library...Bruno Gantz observing the tight rope walker
in her trailer. Brilliant. They tried to make a re-make of
it in City of Angels with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan
which wasn't too bad but couldn't hold a candle to the
original.
