im now 35+1 weeks pregnant and have been fed up waiting for baby no.2 to come for the past 5 or 6 weeks. i am huge and feeling like poo. my first was born huge at 40+4 i heard that second babies come early, i hope this is true coz i really want this to over everyday feels like a week. i went to the midwife last week and she is 2/5th into my pelvis she looks like she has moved further down and i have tried to feel but quite frankly i cant feel her head and wouldnt even know where to start or distinguish what was what. anyway just fancied to have a moan and see how many other women are in this position and if any one has any advice (o yeah forgot to mention that she is already weighjin appx 7lb according to the size of me and growth scans but as she isnt above the 90th percentile they aint doin n e thin)

Hey, i'm 35 weeks also and i'm the opposite, i'm juggling work and doing a university course at the same time so am out everyday for most of the day. I'm hoping that the baby comes EXACTLY on time because it fits in perfectly with my planned maternity leave and time off from uni. I reckon the more you want it to come out the more likely it is to stay in and vice versa lol. I'm also outside my growth charts, but am hoping this doesnt mean i will have a big baby because i want to deliver naturally. Just be patient, i don't think that second babies do come earlier its all about when they are ready to come out, so don't rush it, the baby will come when she is ready.

you need to wait. if the baby were to come now it would be to early, its lungs may not be mature enough to survive outside of the womb and would require time in the nicu. that to me that 2nd babies always come faster is a myth. labor is labor it can take how ever long it wants. if your midwife was worried about the size of the baby she would then induce you, but not unless it is a real emergency. everyday the baby is in the womb is time for the lungs and brain and all organs to mature a little bit more. they will start talking about you delivering once your 37-40 weeks pregnant. see 36 weeks is only 8 months. they can do an amnio to see if the lungs are mature at 36 or 37 weeks and if they are then they will proceed to deliver you, if not you will have to wait. i know this makes u feel bad, but think how hard it would be to see your baby struggling for air and hooked up to all those monitors and iv's. it would be scarry. im sorry to say im not a mom, im not pregnant im only 19, but i know more than anyone at my age knows about giving birth. i started watching baby stories when i was 11 or 12. i have seen and heard many things about birth. i have also done the research so you can absolutaly trust my advice.

glad i could help u
god bless u
u r n my prayers
hope u have a healthy baby
congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if u have anymore ?'s email them to me and i will c if i know the answer.

I was told my baby was more than 7lbs on a weight screen, she was born at 6lbs 6oz so don't believe that. You have one already, don't you remember the months of sleep deprived nights?! I think you should just drink some tea and rest while you can, take a walk and if you really get fed up have lots of sex. It isn't really safe for the baby to be born until after 38 weeks anyhow, they need all the extra weight in there they can get. I just had my third and was relieved when it was over, but you need to remember that the baby needs to be in there just a little longer. Hang in there it'll be over soon, and then you'll be wishing for a full night of sleep. :)

i know just how you feel. my last baby was big and i just wanted him out. but there is a reason why babies are born around 40 week gestation. firstly their lungs have just matured by the time they are born, even so some babies born at 38/39 weeks can have problems with their breathing so a baby born at 35 weeks WILL have immature lungs and you dont want to spend the next week watching your baby in scbu struggling to breath. trust me, i know. also his internal organs although developed are not mature so he may have problems with feeding and weight gain . my last baby measured 5lb at my 32 week scan and at 37 weeks was born 8.7lb so i know just how you feel.your drs wont do anything to hurry up delivery unless serious medical condition with you or baby and if they felt you needed to be delivered early because baby is big you are still looking at post 38 weeks, sorry. i was very ill in hospital with liver prob from 34 weeks and still had to wait until 37 weeks for a c section and that was with begging. so unfortunatly you have to be patient, i found sudoku passed the time away. also your second baby may come early but usually by only a few days, enjoy this time now when you dont have to do 2 hourly feeds day and night. you may not be able to sleep much now but at least you can rest, not much of that in 5 weeks. good luck and be patient, its not long and you want a healthy baby in 5 weeks than a sick baby now.

the second baby does not always come early so thats not true. You are just 35 weeks and I understand you are misserable but you still have a little time.

baby 1 came at 37 weeks
baby 2 came at 39 weeks but was induced cause of her size
18 weeks pregnant with baby 3

35 weeks is wayyyy too early to give birth.

Think about your baby, calm down, and wait.
Trying to get the baby out this early will only hurt the baby....you really want this???

I heard going along a bumpy road may promote labour and raspberry tea! but they may be old wives tales!
