My friend has a pentium 4 3ghz system with 1gb of ram and in that ubuntu when used as a live cd runs faster then my system

Because the speed at which data loads from a CD largely depends on how fast data can be accessed from a CD - if your friend is using a faster CD or DVD drive than you, Ubuntu live will load faster.

Because Linux takes longer to load as a Live CD than it would if it were installed on your Hard Drive.
Your friend probably installed Ubuntu to his hard drive.
TIP: There are 32 bit and 64 bit Ubuntu versions, make sure you are using the right one.

because u r using live cd for operating system and thats y it takes time to load once it loaded u can work on it normally. because it is on cd and it uses ur ram for loading there is no problem of cd or dvd drive.
its normal u can test it with ur friends PC it will take same time to load.

because my dear friend your ram can decrease the time that information passed from cd drive to cpu but it can't decrease reading time of cd drive so it takes a long time
