nooo, it takes about 3 months before you actually get your passport.

Back in August I applied for a passport, paid the "expedited" fee and received it in three weeks (It was $97 for the regular application and $60 more to expedite it). So there's a CHANCE you might get it by the end of the month if you apply now and pay the expedited fee, but I wouldn't make any travel plans until at least Christmas.

Yes, it will cost you, and you still have to fill out all the forms and go to the post office, but you can get your passport in a matter of days, if necessary, through a passport expediting service. I think you don't qualify for the service unless you can show that you plan to travel abroad in 14 days or sooner. Call one of the services (for example, www.traveldocs.com). They should be able to tell you exactly what to do. It will cost you a couple hundred bucks.

Very doubtful. At the very least it is 6 weeks, sometimes 8. Unless you want to go all the way to the state capital and request a special passport through your state Representative. Sometimes, they can give and OK for an emergency passport. I did this about 24 years ago, it cost allot more, but it got me one in about 2 weeks.

No way! You will have to wait months to get it by mail. If you want it fast you either have to personally go to the passport office in a big city like NYC or LA and stand in line ALL day or pay a ton of money to a passport service who will stand in line all day for you.

One has nothing to do with the other. The State Department does not coordinate with the IRS when issuing passports. You can be denied a passport if you have more than $2,500 in outstanding child support, not outstanding taxes.

I got my picture taken at a Walgreen's. Then went to the government building with all my information. I had mine in three weeks. After turning in the paperwork, keep calling and checking on it, because if you don't, then your paperwork might get lost. Despite what others here say, it is very likely that you will get it by the end of the month, without having to do a rush.

No. You won't get it by the end of this month UNLESS you go through one of those "rush agencies" which you have to pay more for. If you go strictly through the government site do not expect it for at least two months - they are backed up.

Pay the additional money for expediting it or you definitely NOT get it in less than 3 months. It will still be cutting it close.

No. It takes several months, but I don't even think that the expedidated process allows you to get it back in a month.
