I,m currently with pipex ,but theres a lot better deals on at the moment. However when I try to change[talk talk and tiscali are 2 I've tried] they say my number is not recognised ,why?

I'm referring to my telephone number,pipex wont give me a mac number as,I rent the line off them is anyone on this site with pipex able to help?

You simply call the broadband provider in your area that you are interested in. Or investigate all of them by checking their web sites or calling. So there are DSL providers, cable, and wireless companies, satellite. And if you're having a problem with your present provider, it sounds like you need some technical assistance from that provider. Call them.

I wouldn't go with either talktalk or tiscali to be honest. just look at the reviews here at http://www.moneysupermarket.com/broadband/
Probably two of the worst to choose from. I had similiar problems with my number! Just get your mac code off Pipex and then try one of the other internet suppliers coz like i say both talktalk and tiscali are bad and customer service is rotten. can you get "be" or o2 have brought out a cheap broadband at excellent speeds!!!! I'd go with them if I wasn't stuck in my stupid contract

You need to get a MAC code from you current supplier (migration authorisation code). This will in a few weeks free up your telephone line which means your new supplier will be able to run braodband down your line. Some companies give you a had time cancelling and giving you the MAC code. You have to insist on it as you will need to supply the code to your new supplier.

over to them, you will have to fill the application in online , but before that you will have to contact your isp for a mac code which is free, its an offence to refuse 1 nowadays .

you can go with talk talk for phone line and broadband £20.49 per month 2 months free setanta and freeview box. can cancel setanta and still keep the freeview box. you also get free calls to landlines 24/7!! thought this was an excellent deal. it only costs £29.99 to set up but you dont have pay this til your calls are up and running. i was well impressed!!

If you still have a contract with your existing proivider you need to get a code from them to give to the new provider then buy your way out.
