You can buy the part at Napa or Advance Auto parts, usually runs under 100, unless you don't return the old one-they will charge you for the "core. The labor should be about 1.5 hours.

in shops i have worked at they have charged as much as $300 parts and labor for one axle. rebuilt axles can be bought for usually less than 70.00. plus the corecharge they charge for the old part that you get back when you return it. if you can do the labor yourself it is way cheaper. if you cannot do the job yourself i would suggest that you shop around for the best price before taking it to the first place you get a quote from.
