I hate picture story telling time.

Sharing photographs is a great way to enjoy a giggle and have a bit of relax time. I don't dread that my coworkers are excited to show pictures! We are not the same personality types, but I would not dream of having them feel hurt or discouraged by not having a look at the pictures. When I don't feel interested, I still look and make happy comments about things in the pictures. My coworkers end up cheerful all day afterwards. It is not big deal to view the pictures. Just have fun with it! Enjoy the moments in time that are sweet like that.

I love seeing people pictures but its part of what I do for a living. I have always loved seeing the little kids dressed up for Halloween or Mardi Gras. The bliss on the faces of children when they see the tree with all those presents under it and the awe of surprise when they get THE PRESENT they have begged for since they didn't get it for there birthday. If you don't like and someone shows you the pictures then be polite. Nothing worse than rudeness in an office.

I am not a big fan of picture day either - so one day, I brought in several pictures of my motorcycle, the car my husband and I are restoring, my birds, my fire-belly toads, and some of my tattoo designs.
The reaction I got was total silence - - nobody knew what to say - from that point on, they share their pictures on breaks and do not invite me - - - which is exactly what I wanted. It might have helped put the point across because I am the boss too though......

No, I enjoy sharing little snippets of daily lives with people I know and even some I don't...I never force anyone to share mine but I feel honored they would want to share theirs with me. But then, I genuinely care about other people.
BTW, I am also the boss....and I am a very well loved boss with wonderful working relationships with those I work with.

No but it's funny that you hide in your office. It doesn't happen that often to me but, when it does, I can remember enjoying it.

I happen to enjoy peoples stories about their travels...I prefer them to pictures of dogs and cats...

Only yesterday I was loving this situation cos the perfect 10 on my reception just got back from Antigua and wanted to show me pics of her on the beach in her bikini!
I had to take a toilet break afterwards.
