I am sure you are aware that harems consist basically of one man that owns/weds as many women as he wants/can afford...
YES, this tradition is legal as well as expected in some of the Arabian countries, as well as several well-known religions through out the world...
WHY is there no religion or nation or culture in the world that will allow one woman to have more than one husband?
Firstly, wouldnt that solve the over-population factor?
Secondly, OH GOD, if anyone knows of a country that allows this, PLEASE, PLEASE, tell me! Im moving there! Thats all I ever dream about!

Lol...
Well, actually, the way that I pictured it was:
If I would be rich enough to own a harem of men, Id be rich enough to hire their own personal enuchs for them...
So, basically, Id only ever need them for two things...
Sex...
And of course... SHOPPING! hahaha

throughout history, and even to this day, there are more women on earth than men. this may be explained by the fact that more men fought and died in wars and the life expectancy of man is less. also, many of the mens with harems were fertile and thus able to successfully complete the reproductive life cycle. This would benefit the tribe, village, kingdom, etc as it increases the size and power of the group. so if you look past the religeous aspect of it, it made sense to have many women to one man.

Harems are about power. Historically, men want and hold power, whereas women just want to hold a powerful man. Thesedays gender roles are more flexible but I doubt a woman would find a group of subordinate men attractive. They'd simply be too pathetic.

Doesn't this come down to women's rights, equality, superiority, and the rest?
Typically, men have been in control throughout history. In some cultures, women freely subordinate themselves to men. How could you possibly expect a woman in such a culture to possess a harem of men?
With the possible exception of the Amazonian women of myth, there is no example of a woman-dominated society.
Nice fantasy, however.

Bless your heart, girl. You are one in a million.
but why do you need the whole man, and not just one but many of those men to maintain and feed, when you are going to use only 1% of the body mass, wouldn't the rest become extra baggage.

I believe there are parts of Nepal that still practice polyandry (multiple husbands). Overall though, polyandry is not good for populating the Earth, so it was never a part of historical cultures.
