Cant throw stuff away in the trash.?

I just threw my Windows media player in the trash..
When I try to empty the trash is says I cant because its padlocked.... I tried opening "Read informations" where normally there's a little square in the left hand corner ' locked/unlocked....... its not locked but I still cant empty the trash...... Its WMP 9.0.0 and I have Mac OSX 1O.3.9....
What do I do please...step by step. Thanks D

Go and un-install it first, and then go here and download Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X here :-
