What would you do?

Last nite I had a woman in her late 20's (who is a little slow) trick or treat at my house. She wasn't dressed up, she has no kids (I know this b/c it is a small town). So I asked her what she was supposed to be...she informed me she was "too old" to dress up. So I asked her if that meant she was too old to trick or treat...she responded with verbal assults on me. What would you do??

If she did verbal assaults then call the police and let them know about it. The person may have been drunk. At the least, the person is a little out of her mind.

I will give candy to kids. I will give candy out to teenagers, but I will not give candy out to adults who show up. I have seen a few do it. A lot of times it is college kids but sometimes I get like a 45 year old man show up wanting candy. "Sorry, it is for the kids." I say. Sometimes, they go away. Most of the times they will beg. I have never had someone get angry with me though, so in your case there might have been something wrong with the person.

In my opinion, trick or treating at any age is only acceptable if you're in a costume. I agree with you 100%- too old to dress up is too old to trick or treat. That said, I think there's no such thing as too old to dress up :)

Hopefully, you informed her that as she was not dressed in costume, you didn't consider her to be a legitimate trick or treater, and would not be giving her any candy. As for the verbal assault? Just shut the front door and walk away. If she continues to harrass you, get the authorities involved. Being 'slow' is not an excuse for bad behavior.

i'm rather finding forward to this Ashes sequence and unquestionably have not thoroughly written the Aussies off. nonetheless England could go into the sequence as overwhelming favourites by way of modern sort and the reality that the sequence is being performed in England. I reckon Chris Rogers could be incredibly a depressing horse as he knows the circumstances over here fairly a lot. sturdy to make certain some friendly banter flying around between the two gadgets of supporters too!

You should tell her that if she's to old to dress up, she's too old to get candy. When kids trick or treat, they have to wear a costume to get candy. Even if the just dress as a different gender or paint their face & wear all black, or something. If she curses at you, just tell her that that's inappropriate & you're definately not going to give her any candy now.

You toss a 3 cent piece of candy in her bag and go back to watching The Simpsons. If a 90 year old man came to my door holding a bag and saying, "trick or treat" I toss him a piece of candy. What's the big deal. I think you need your windows soaped real good.

I learned years ago that it is better to hand over the candy than argue. I did in 1985. Every Halloween after until 1992 the little butt head egged my house.

I think that once you have "teen" at the end of your age, you are too old to trick-or-treat. However, I would not refuse to give candy to someone who came to my door.

Well... you said she was a little slow. So perhaps just giving her some candy would have been the easiest way to deal with it.

If she started "verbal assualts" I would have slammed my door in her face.

I think I would have just given her the candy Niff. You know they say my boy is a little slow.
