I think you are entitled to your own views and opinions. Personally, I don't agree that ANYONE should run on the basis of their nationality or gender. I think both Hillary and Obama are strong candidates, but I don't think they should make it into a black thing or a woman thing. I don't think black people should like Obama just because he is black or that women should like Hillary just because she's a woman.
People should vote for someone because they believe that the candidate can prove themselves as a capable politician and can take over the mess this country has turned into today (thanks to our current prez).

Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy were very young when they became President. I don't think the age really is as much of a factor as some think it is. As for policy lightweight you should go to his website and maybe hear a few of his speeches. Go see him in person and, if possible ask him a question, see for yourself what his stand is on the issues. It doesn't matter what his age, gender, race, religion or any of that sort of stuff is. What is important is how he stands on the issues

As you're well aware, we aren't a collective consciousness so there are likely plenty of black folks who find Mr. Obama's inexperience a bit daunting. I'm personally unconvinced either way as yet because I readily admit that the experienced political power-base hasn't brought about substantial change, either and has conversely been the direct cause of the mess we find ourselves in now. So, a more productive question to you may be this: Which of his policies do you find deficient, and why? (His position on our presence in Iraq was dead-on accurate from the beginning of the war,and far ahead of his contemporaries. That's no small consideration.) So, what's on your mind?

I doubt it. I am white and I do not vote based on color of the candidate I hope the black community is not jumping on the "Obama bandwagon" just because he is black. But I am not only not impressed with Obama I am insulted by what he supports. I was part of a committee that voted in a black preacher for our ALL white church because he was the best man for the job. Look for the one who will do the job the best.

No. My wife isn't impressed either. She thinks his lack of experience outside of a small time state level is a hinderance to him. And while he claims to be for change, he's still a typical product of the big Illinois party machine. Maybe in 4 years, he'll be better, but right now, he's too green and his message of reform and his actions just don't match up.

Nah, you're instincts are probably right on.....
The powers that be always like the appearance of a balanced
ticket; but those of us approaching 50 realize that the same ol' bullshit is being groomed in a slightly different manner.

Well, that is your opinion and I respect it. I also think the same. I think Hilary Clinton would do a good run, but the thing is men won't let her. I think it is sexist not to look at a woman and see a person for who she is. To addition to my statement, I think while her husband Bill was running she was running behind him unstead of him running himself.

I don't think Obama stands a chance against Hilary.
I don't care for him too much either.

I am sure lots of black people do not find him to be the best candidate. They don't seem to want to speak up.

Number one he needs to gain a little weight. He was strong last year but now he is just not big enough for the shoes.
