I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago and I'm on the pill (seasonique) to help with my hormones and cymbalta for the migraines that I occasionaly get.

I'm not really obese but I need to lose 20 pounds to be where I want to be but I haven't had any luck. I work out probably 5 - 6 times a week, including running an hour on an elliptical machine. I watch what I eat and don't overeat. Most of my fat is in my stomach area and I just really want to have my confidence back.

Does anyone else have this condition and have you found anything that helps you? I've read about metformin and the insulite system, but has anyone had success with these? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have PCOS but not the Insulin Resistance part of it but I have met a few women that have tried Glucophage (generic: metformin) to help with their Insulin Resistance and had great success at losing weight.

Here's the link to a site that has some messageboards where you can talk to some other ladies who have done this. The link is at: http://www.pcosupport.org

They even have e-mail lists that go by region and other topics such as alternative treatments.

I know exactly how you feel,i ate like a sparrow, and still looked and felt like a whale, very frustrating when the doctors don`t believe your not over eating.Look into this drug,i think it is spelt spirolanalactane also known aldactone, the weight dropped off me(water retention)it states not to take if pregnant or trying.hope it helps you,it worked for me.
put a search on with something like spirolanatane and pcos

that's the 2nd month I even have been on clomid. final month I took 50 mg of clomid on day 5-9. I ovulated on cd 23. This month i'm taking 50 mg of clomid on day 4-8, observed by capability of estrodoil on day 9-12. i'm hoping this can be the month! i did not have any symptons whilst taking clomid, in spite of the actuality that my AF grow to be heavy this month with a superb variety of cramping the 1st day.
