I don't think you have to do that because almost everyone in Philippines knows how to speak in English.

I don't think for the tiniest group of people (like your best friends and immediate family) you need to worry about copyrights and all that, especially if you don't get paid for it.

You can always do it digitally and read the book aloud, translating as you go, and record it into mp3 and make CD's of the book.

However, you might check various sources of international retailers and see if they already have a translation in that language, and then pick up a copy, of either print or audio. Here is the Amazon page where all the foreign language books are cateorized. I don't know what the language is called but you can see if it is in there.

If you are filipino, then you know that the people there that dont speak english very well are the same people that cant afford to pay 15 dollars for a book.

You will need to get permission to translate from the author and the original publisher of the work. If you look on the copyright page of the book, you can usually find the publisher's address (you can also try online). Unless you have their permission, your translation can be considered copyright infringement and you can be prosecuted.

into tag? im surprised that they do not speak english. When I was in manila every knew it, roughly anyways. Well I would recommend David Eddings books. They are what got me into reading in the first place.
