The age varies from girl to girl. The average age for beginning menstruation is 12, but normal age range for beginning is from 8-16 years of age.

When you reach puberty your hormone levels (around the ages 12, 13, 14--but can range from as young as 9 to about 16 in some cases) will change and that will automatically trigger (provided you don't have any medical issues) your menstrual cycle. This is the roughly 30 day cycle in which your unfertilized egg is released and then sloughed by your body along with the unterine "lining" of blood that accumulates to nourish a growing fetus and is no longer necessary when you are not pregnant. This "period" usually lasts 3-7 days. Missing a period is the way most women determine that they are pregnant, because obviously the egg is now fertilized and will attach itself to the uterine lining which will now remain to serve its purpose. Are they not showing these films any longer at school ??

I am not sure of what you are asking but I will try anyway.
I knew a girl in grade school who started menstrating at age 9. And a woman ususally stops menstrating around ages 45 to 55.

It really depends on each person menstration can take place as early as 8 or as late as 18. It depends on the hormone levels and life activities of every individual. Most girls stop anywhere from 35 to never. like I said, depends on each individual

Basically all girls will get their period. You can start as early as 9 years old. The clues you might be getting your period are: boobs growing, armpit & public hair growth, stomach cramps. Usually 2 years after symptoms start is when you get your period. Talk to your mom, older sister, aunt, etc. (a woman) or a doctor. Also check out this website: http://www.4girls.gov/body/period.htm
