I know what lmao means, but what does the f stand for? Two things come to mind, and I'm not sure which one (if either) is correct.

I'm from the era (I'm 21) where we actually write things...

Laughing my F-ing A$$ off

OR

Laughing my freakin' a$$ off

A "cleaner" way is to say: LMAO

OR

LOL "laughing out loud"

There is also ROTFLMFAS, which is "rolling on the floor laughing my ******* a$$ off. This is to express something you thought was hilarious.

It's a swear word that starts with "F".

I'll give you two guesses. But I'm pretty sure you'll figure it out on the first try.

LMFAO means "laughing my f****ing a*s off."
[no offence, by the way you asked that question.]

LMAO sounds better - "laughing my a*s off."

Have fun! ;)
