There are books that go into detail, but basically one tries to determine whether a person is telling the truth or is comfortable with the topic being discussed by inadvertent movements - ones where the person doesn't realize they are going on. These range from clinching of muscles in the jaw, pulse showing in the throat and where the eyes glance when they move. The latter are cited in books such as looking right and left instead of at the questioner or up and to the right when having told a lie. Some of these can be defeated by a willful subject and of course, will not exist if the person believes what they are saying is truth even if facts do not back them up. Since it is a broad topic, the books are more likely to include all aspects of body language.
