they are trying to take it away from kids here in the U.S. too, as well as Christmas all together because all the liberals want everything to be so PC, and because they have some delusion people are forcing their religion on people, they try to force their non-religion on people.
I don't get what harm Santa is doing, we all grew up with Santa and most of us turned out alright. People just go to far, it's always who have the loud mouths but are in the minority that try to force things like this on people.
People should write the new Prime Minister, a member or representative of Parliament or maybe just your local politicians and tell them you want "Santa" for your kids at Christmas, and you want the right to give them the Christmas that you had growing up.

Becoming try it already is far too politically correct!!!
For the life of me I don't understand why they would want to get rid of Santa? What is wrong with Jolly ol St. Nick? If this government does away with Santa like they did with the Christmas Tree whats the point then? I understand the religious aspect of Christmas and I am not one to preach my religious views to anybody....But to get rid of Santa will ruin the fun for all the kids....http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=41877 this article is pretty good

it's political correctness gone mad! we are a Christian country but our Government in it's wisdom have decided that all other religions that have been imported here have to take precedent? what a load of **** the Government has decided that we can't offend these other religions, well hang on, it's our country which has been Christian since the Romans invaded, so surely the other religions should respect that? and not try to force their beliefs on us? and not stop our celebrations?
or am i wrong?
i really don't care what religion if any people prefer, but come on live and let live, don't stop the Christian celebrations, if that happens, then there'll be no Christmas, no Easter, no joy!

That is just madness, this country is definitely far too politically correct. It seems we are expected to bend over backwards to accommodate other cultures, and to not offend anyone, but this is Britain after all, and we have our own culture and traditions that should be maintained along side the new ones. Britain is undoubtedly a multi-cultural country, which is great, but it seems that 'British-ness' is getting lost, and it's a shame considering that this is what the country is built on.

You should've posted this in Politics. Liberal political correctness is the slow deterioration of this the once great country. The next thing you know, liberal democrats will have microphones mounted in you bedroom so that when you have sex they can find out if you are saying, "Oh God!" and have you arrested!
*** I saw your added comment, it's happening here in the US too. My wife is a teacher and the administration tells the staff to not celebrate Christmas but to celebrate "Winter Holidays".

government, think, tank? how can you even put those words together? lol
there's no way they can get rid of Santa, that's ridiculous!
if there was a market for other religious festivals, then they would be marked on a more even footing, so come on other religious festivals, become more commercialised!

The government doesn't buy the gifts I give my family, they don't come to my house and decorate my tree, or bake my goodies...they have absolutely no right to tell me how, when, or what to celebrate, and they absolutely have no right to tell me I can't say Merry Christmas...I am not saying Happy Holiday's just because the word Christmas may offend someone. We don't say Happy Holiday's in February for St. Valentines Day even though there are people who don't believe in love, So LEAVE my CHRISTMAS alone!
Thank You

I did that long term in the past. Too complication-free to do away with Santa. Christmas is a time the place peoples heart is the softest and the toughest to take heed to why Jesus became born into this international.
