If you do not have the money in your paypal account and it transfers from your bank account, it will send an e-cheque.
I'm not sure if you can change this or not, you may want to contact paypal and ask them, they may be able to cancel the transaction and let you use a CC to make the payment.
Usually and echeck through paypal does not take 7-9 day to clear the ebay seller. I sell on ebay and I usually get my money in 4 days. It shows the buyer has paid, but the money is pending. So the seller knows you have paid, they just are waiting for your check to clear. You really should not be worried about them getting their money because they know you have paid and everything is taken care of.
Good Luck!!

They get a notification that you've paid from here you can only wait for it to clear.
If you want instant payment and you have a bank account added on your paypal you can just click the "pay" button on ebay and when you sign in, don't touch anything. It will say "instant transfer from bank account" or something like that at the bottom of your paypal screen and just click pay. It appears in your bank book or online banking thingy as paypal transfer and is basically just like a debit payment.
Oh yeah, you might have to be confirmed first. So if you have already gone through the verification procees (making sure your bank acount is indeed your own) then this is all possible.
Or add a credit card, whichever works best for you =)

If you didn't have funds sitting in Paypal, this could happen, especially since it is recently opened. If you add a credit card to the account, you can use it to pay for the items directly without the echeck problem. The only thing I can think to do since the echeck is sent is to communicate with the seller and ask the seller to cancel the echeck so that you can re-send the payment in proper form. Instant payments require either a verified Paypal account (probably takes a little time to do this) that can provide instant transfer from your bank, OR you can add funds to Paypal (making sure they have cleared into Paypal first), then pay using Paypal balance.

To make an instant payment with PayPal, you need to set it up to use either your bank account or a credit card.

Get your bank account confirmed and also register a Credit or Debit card. Either of these will make the payments instant

You need to transfer some cash from your bank account to your Paypal account or it will do this. Most Ebay sellers don't actually mind getting e-checks though, it's just annoying for the buyer because they have to wit to get their stuff.

For some reason, if you just have your bank account registed with PayPal, they say it usually takes 4-5 days to clear. But, if you also register a credit card for back up funds, your e-check will clear immediately through your bank.

now you have to put a credit card on paypal to get payments done instantly - when I joined many years ago they just took a debit card etc but my daughter also refuses to put her credit card on so she ends up sending e-cheques - but I have been told if you are a recognised ebay seller this is ok as well - my daughter uses my account if its an urgent item - I hate e-cheques and as a seller refuse them

My e-checks are paid the day I tell them to and do not take 9 days. I would look into that and see if you can find a bank that has better service.

Yes you can still buy things with a zero balance. you have a certain period of time to pay for the item and they usually will transfer the item from your bank account.
