Having an SLD. Which in fact is abbreviated for Social Learning Disorder. It included ADD, ADHD, or whatever there is to keep your mind from actually paying attention. That's why I had the same Math and English teacher my years of Middle School. And now I have a learning Strategies to help me.

The big picture.
This is because school textbooks are all pre-approved vs what is available at the largest bookstore in town or even at the local supermarket or drugstore.
Like an assemblyline, only certain books are allowed to go down the assemblyline at school to keep the students thinking in a way the school politicians want them to think.

What is required for you to exist in an adult world. ie; how to use a check book, how to write a resume, how to dress for a job interview, how to be punctual, why you should brush your teeth, what is involved with signing a lease, what is involved with buying a house, how to pay taxes, why it is important to vote, why you need to stay informed about current events, how to keep learning.
I was told once by a wise lady, "It is what you learn after you know it all that counts".

Some people just don't want to. They are there for the social stuff or because they have to be. If you really want ot learn I say, GO for it!
