Really they had no plans to link up. They did talk about mutually supportive attacks, but not really linking up.

If they did, it would likely have been the Germans through the middle east, working their way towards India. The Japanese were already fighting in India and could have tried to push west to link up.

There was still a lot of territory to be crossed in Asia before the Germans and Japanese could have joined forces.

the Germans down thru Armenia / Turkey then follow Alexander's route across Iraq and Iran to India; The Japanese, having conquered Burma, were trying to fight their way into India.......meet up somewhere around New Delhi/ Islamabad....
