Only seven copies of the book are being printed. One will be auctioned for charity, while the others are for gifts.

If she truly wanted to raise money for the charity she would make a lot more than that and have them sold world wide.

I saw on a website that it was $62,000 (US) starting off! I'm sure it will get to be a lot more than that though once the bidding goes on. I can only imagine. Probably like $100,000 or more by some millionaire that happens to have the money to waste away.. I wish i could get a copy so bad. Even if someone photocopied it and posted it online. I'd put my own little book together. Haha.. I think it's a bit unfair to her fans to not publicize it. She could probably make lots more if she made it like a mini book series like she did with 'Quidditch Through the Ages' and 'Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them' for a charity fund.. All of us Potter fans are in need of a fix since the series is over.

Honestly, this is a disappointment. Since she can't go back on her words saying that she will not create any more public HP books, she may have wanted to create this 'public' hype about her 'private' books for 'good' causes. To me it sounds like she wants to build up the revenue for her new children books, thus a continuous stream of loyal ex-HP fans who will follow her every publishings (who are young). Besides, it really was the HP fans who stayed true to the series and thus should not have to be thanked in the end this way. I can only hope that the rest of the movie series will stay true to the book and JK will at least be instrumental in seeing to that. I can attest that it was you, the fans, who helped created the magic of HP most of all.

Far too much. The Harry Potter books are mediocre, derivative nonsense at best. Tom Brown's School Days meets Lord of the Rings - great, just what literature needs...

The sky is the limit. I could see it ending up going for 250,000 pounds or more.
