Not shrinking, but it does cause other male problems. He may feel he has shrunk because diabetes interferes with eyesight. It also is often accompanied by overweight, which might cause his stomach to get in the way of what he wishes he could see.

This problem is not a laughing matter. This person asked a real, honest, question, and all he got was shallow responses from people who know absolutely nothing about Diabetes and the affect of the diesease on the gentilia. I am 72 years old, and in very good shape and my stomach does not get in the way. I have a low testosterone level (testosterone treatment caused other bad side effects) and the doctor that I went to said my testicles are atrophying and my penis is smaller due to a reduced amount of blood supply to the area. I hope someone will take this question seriously and offer aid to those of us who need it.

Not shrink necessarily, but it can affect its function for sure. Just make sure you follow your doctor's treatment instructions every day. You might want to use a penis health creme called Man1 Man Oil too. It contains several vitamins and nutrients that help with blood flow and overall penis health. It is a great product that helps a lot of men in your situation. Good luck.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/rRaPg
As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

Diabetes runs in my family (both sides), and I've never heard of this before - never read about it either in all my reading to educate myself more on the disease.

I would venture to say he has some other problem going on in addition to the diabetes.

As far as which is worse, they can both be bad, but type 1 has the potential to be worse. Type 1 cannot be prevented, it usually sets in during childhood, your body cannot produce insulin so you have to take insulin shots. Type 2 is insulin resistance, where your body produces it but cannot properly handle it. Type 2 can be delayed and controlled with proper diet and exercise.

It can cause nerve damage and has potential for various forms of erectile dysfunction. Men's elections as they age will not be as big. Diabetes may make that happen faster.
I am not in the medical field.
