the level they are all at should put them above personal attacks on other teams and their team mates, but AROD has no common decency and it shows time and time again, he is low as low can be and no amount of money will ever make him better. The red sox will never sign him because hs is not about the team- he is all about himself and thats why he lost it all this year, including the biggest thing- self respect, he has none do you agree?

I agree with you but the Red Sox will try to sign A-reck because Lowell is a free agent and I don't think that the current SS will move over for A-reck. Last I heard Boras, A-reck's agent is trying to work with the Yanks to see if they can settle a deal "right down the middle".

I don't think you can effectively or honestly say he has lost 'self-respect' because that means he has lost respect for himself, something we can't possibly know.

He is also not the bottom of the barrel baseball player, he is one of the best.

Lastly, if you live in the US, you should be more than used to personal attacks from one team to another, it's called politics.

I know we really want them to, we really do, however fame and fortune will never make someone 'a good person'

Charles Barclay is ok hawking shoes for money, having kids look up to him, but hey, don't hold him responsible for being a 'role model', he doesn't want the job.
So, instead of people not supporting his stuff, they do anyway and it gives him power.

Now, Arod is a good player and he doesn't get paid for his personal choices. He cheated on his wife, then she got pregnant again. Her class showed when she decided to show her frustration by wearing a "*&(# you" shirt to the ball game, the place where people take their kids.

Money doesn't buy you class, it doesn't make you smart, it doesn't make you a good person and unfortunately, we want our celebrities to be good people. The fault is ours. We expect too much of people that have enough talent to do something that they get paid huge amounts for and we let it happen.

Yes, the Yankee fans boo'd Arod when he didn't do well, but they accepted him being a Yankee by attending the games and buying the MLB crap.

Nothing speaks to the powers that be like mass avoidence, but one or two or 100 people can't do it.

Arod's issue is greed and maybe a bit of stupidity, because he has an agent that is greedy and smart.

And please, don't believe that the Red Sox will never sign him, they did try to trade for him after all and if the price is right, they would sign him in an instant and I guarantee that the Red Sox Nation wouldn't be ticked off enough to boycott.

Arod is a jerk, cares only about the money, and not the team, and proved that by opting out before the world series ended, when he could've waited 10 days for the yanks to make him an offer. Yanks best bet is to get young Miguel Cabrera, if the Marlins don't ask for too much in return.

he lost respect not self respect...
sportcollectible guy---the Cubs don't need him... they can make a first round exit(like he did this year) without him and paying him for the same result...
Donnie Darko--- um what clutch hits... try 0-18 in his last 18 postseason ABs with runners in scoring position... that's money, let me tell you...
Again, Smiling Again... many players can take their team to the playoffs... where is even a WS appearance for A-Rod??
besthitter2001... yeah a loss in the first round and see above (0-18)... yeah he sure deserves to be paid for that...

All that being said, he is one of the best in the game, but mostly in the regular season and mostly when the game is not on the line(not clutch hitter)... most likely a first ballot HOFer and the Yankees would not have even made the playoffs the last two years without him... he earns his MVPs... but just like a Heismann doesn't guarantee you a college football win or being the #1 NFL draft pick, winning a regular season MVP doesn't guarantee pennants or WS titles...
He is not worth the money...
Heck look how much Jordan did for the Bulls(winning titles no less) while being grossly underpaid and not complaining about it before they finally overpaid him to make up for not paying him when they should have...
At least Kobe wants to win a championship even though he is selfish...
Sorry to bring other sports into the conversation but I just wanted to make comparisons...

No, I do not agree. Your jealousy and hatred only tarnishes your credibility. Regardless of what your opinion is of him, he is the best player in the game. A player who hits 54 home runs and drives in 156 helps his team very much and, in his case, got them to the playoffs. Why is his free agency any different than anybody else's? And saying he is the reason the Yankees lost is absurd with Jeter batting only .174 and Posada .133, plus the crappy Yankee pitching. Your logic is very distorted and is typical of all you A-Rod bashers. You can continue with your insults, but you will continue to be wrong no matter how many times you repeat yourself.

But warm regards to you nonetheless, for there are far more important things for me to be concerned about - like my wife's suffering from M.S. and my son serving in Iraq. Have a nice day!

And to schufs: You can rationalize all you want, but where do you mention Jeter and Posada's letdown or the subpar Yankee pitching? You would make a great New York writer. I can see it now. A-Rod hits 20 home runs, drives in 50 and bats 1.000 in the world series while Jeter goes 0 for 30. Your headlines would be, "Jeter's Leadership Wins Series for Yankees!" You guys are a hoot! Instead of writing slanted garbage, just say I hate the S.O.B. and you would be more credible.

People rant & whine about A-Rod, saying he is greedy, thinks about himself & not the team, well if he goes to a team that someone roots for & they hate him now, I bet as soon as he signs with them their attitudes will change. I bet they start calling him an all-star player & cheering for him then. I do agree that he won't end up in Boston. Didn't Boston lose out to the Yankees to get A-Rod. They wanted him then & deep down I bet they still would want him today.

How is it he has no decency? What makes him low class? You really don't explain well.
I'd take Alex Rodriguez any day for my team. I don't know why you think he has such a rotten personality. He's positively great in that department compared with Barry Bonds.

arod isnt a low class player, scott boras is a low class agent
you cant blame arod, i dont think, from his perspective, these teams keep being willing to pay him obscene amounts of money, shoot, that guy is going to be able to die knowing his children and grandchildren are set for life, and you cant blame him for that, i think it is scott boras who gets it in his head that he deserves that kind of money, i think it was scott boras who leaked the arod opt out news during the series, not arod
i just wish players would stop taking him as their agent, but again, cant blame them, they know that boras will get them a big payday, and for anyone whos ever been 21-22 and just out of college, you know what a blessing a good paycheck would be

a-rod will be the greatest player ever, if he isnt already. my children and my childrens children will stare with wonder and awe when i say that i got to see him play. he could ask for a billion dollars and it still wouldnt be enough. and he is the team. add 50 home runs and 160 rbis to any team in baseball and see how far they move up statistically. not to mention all the other clutch hits, pitchers pitching around him, and the winning attitude. if he played for the royals, they would make the playoffs. he put the yankees on his back carried them to the playoffs.

Everybody thinks he's low class until he sign with their team and then he's a super star. But only until he takes that team to the play-offs every year.
