If you don't relate to the ideals of either party, maybe you should consider being an independant.You can do a web search to learn the principles of each party to make an informed decision.

It depends if you are conservative or liberal. If you have conservative values, register as a Republican. The fact that your husband is a doctor does not matter.

Only you can decide what political party to affiliate with. Your occupation or his doesn't make any difference. For that matter you don't have to be either dem. or rep. you could always vote for the best candidate.
