Getting both of them would be great, assuming that their contracts include low base salaries and plenty of incentives. I'd be very hesitant to lay out a lot of money up front because we've seen how that worked out for the Cubs.
It's obvious now that Kerry Wood will never be the kid who struck out 20 against the Astros, but he could still find a spot in the Reds rotation if healthy. Prior actually has more upside but seems even more susceptible to injury. He's still only 27, though, and coming into what should be his prime years. He could end up being a huge bargain if he stays healthy.
The Reds have always loved guys who were cast off by other teams - Mark Wohlers, Brandon Phillips, many of their starters over the past decade - and these guys would fit right in. They'd have little pressure on them to succeed, and they'd help the Reds draw fans. It's a pretty good win-win situation.

if they pursue both then an incentive/reward type contract is the best option. wood has shown he is healthy enough to be at least a potential stopper (which my reds lack) prior is he still hurt or even alive when was the last time he suited up fpr a game? 2004? the reds have tons of bullpen problems which can be fixed with bakers influence, however starters need a great veteran presence who can teach others how to control a game i believe a player like glavine would reshape the whole pitching staff and bring more then his arm. imagine if the reds had pitching to go with that offense? or if they had defense, ss is a void on defense drop gonzo he flopped

Not a good idea, both have too much baggage and are too much of an injury risk. A team like the Reds needs to build from the ground up and shouldn't be looking at players with one foot in the (can't play no more) grave. A team that has a good shot at winning next year might want to take a chance on one or both with the hope that they have something left in the tank and can help them for one or two years, but the Reds don't fall into that "need something right now" category.

SUICIDE!!! Both Prior and Wood had great potential but I've never seen a championship won on potential!
From the beginning both pitchers had terrible mechanics and that of course lead to their down fall. It always amazed me that all the pitching coaches never picked up on their deliveries. It's too late in the game to change now and they will always have arm trouble as a result.
The Reds or any other team should just forget it and not waste their time and money paying for rehab sessions for these two guys.
I like them both and wish they could be good again but it's just not going to happen.

If the Reds want to continue to suck for the next 10 years, yes go after both. Dusty ran them out there and let them throw 200 pitches per game as young guys (yes I know I exaggerated it) and look at them now. If I was a Reds fan, I would be concerned that he's going to do the same thing with Homer Bailey. Dusty was not a good hire and I would look for the Reds to continue to stink well past 2010.

Depends on their health. They should maybe go after Prior. He had good off speed pitches to go with his heat. Wood in my opinion threw his arm off. That's why he will never be the same. Prior can be healthy again so I would pursue him. Wood might be a descent bullpen guy for you though. The NL is so situational that he could come in an face 1 or 2 batters and take a seat. If the Reds can get them cheap it might be worth the gamble.

Prior is still a question mark but Wood proved to be pretty good out of the bullpen last season and the Reds are desperate for bullpen help so I think it would be a good fit for the Reds and Wood.

It seems to me Prior and Wood are greatly over payed. They both seem to get hurt way too much. I would have to say no, there are better, healthier pitchers out there.

If they want to pay someone tons of money to pitch 4 games a year, why not? Baseball is full of idiot GM's and owners that throw money around. Maybe they should trade for Mike Hampton too!

I think they would make great addtions for the Reds, but I would like them to go after Curt Schilling. He would provide great leadership and depth for that pitching staff.
