I did the math, and unfortunately it adds up to the Red Sox being the best fit for A-Rod, I figure the American League is best for him, with the DH he can extend his career, he needs a major market area for all the attention he wants, and he would want to be with a contender, the walls at Fenway would be good for his HR production so I think he would meet his requirements there, plus like others have said it is an extra shot against us Yankee fans.

To be honest, I don't think that there is a good match for A-Rod and Boras and their egos. There are alot of teams that could use him but they don't need the baggage.
I think that if the Rockies had the cash. it might be a good talent fit. A-Rod would be the perfect clean-up hitter for that team. After all, they are one big bat away from a World Series title. But one reason that he won't sign there is because their outfield does tend to rob home runs. Cleveland might be a good fit as fa as ballparks go since left and right are measured at 325 feet and the center fence is only 8 feet. But if we are gonna talk about best ball park for A-Rod so he can get his records, Fenway is obvious.
After looking at all of the variables (park size, team cash, ability to put up with his BS) , I am thinking the best fit for A-rod is unfortunately the Red Sox. The have the cash, they have shown that they will put up with some obnoxious players, they have a potential open position at third, and they have the smallest park in the Majors.
One more thing: he's better suited for the AL because at the end of his carreer he's going to be dh'ing.

The best fit would be one of three different NL teams. First I would say that the Giants would be a great fit; they have the room for a big contract now, they are looking for a Superstar and they would love to have a new person for that fan base to shelter. The Second would the Cubs, they are spenders for sure, Pinella and him have a great relationship and he would love hitting bombs there. The last would be a surprising one to many...the Marlins, they are getting a new stadium in two years, they are looking for someone to be the face to lead them into that new stadium and he is the hometown boy. his numbers would suffer for two years in the cavern though, that may be the only downfall to him going there but he would have less pressure which he likes and he could rack up numbers in anonymity.
I still say he ends up in Boston or Chicago, maybe LA but other places would be a better fit for him.

honestly, the best fit would be the yanks, and who knows, maybe they still negotiate something...they have the moey, dont want to be shown up or be screwed by letting him go to Boston, Mets, Tigers, Angels, or any other potential threat....if talks get serious between any of them the yanks will hop in w/ a 35 million dollar a year offer...the boss wanted him back...dont be surprosed to have theboss fire cashman as a scapegoat ad offer a-rod a blank check.
in his best interest, since he doesnt always react very well to all the criticism, he cant go to any club like the sox or mets, he has to go to the dodgers who jst want to make the playoffs...he wont have so much heat on him to perform every time he s at the plate and i bet you he lands there w/ Torre and Mattingly and possibly Bowa - Proctor was traded there last year as well...it iwll be like a reunion...lol...i think he lands there or he is a yankee again.

Honestly considering ALL factors, I think Anaheim would be the best suitor for ARod. I can care less for him going forward as he made it clear he does not want to resign with the Yanks (his prerogative), and I would prefer to see him in the NL, BUT, my gut tells me that he will remain in the AL. With that said, Anaheim, is a big market but can have a small market feel with the Dodgers in town and LA not being as big into sports as NY. Also, Anaheim is a contender and they have big bucks to spend.
Either way, I hope the Yankees go back to the early to mid 90s philosophy of TEAM above individual players.

Hey - I would not write off the Mud Hens offer as PR - it is minor league, he could do it - they made the stipulations high enough that he would be challanged to meet thier demands.
Heck he might even get to move back to shortstop if he took them up on that offer.
seriously - I think the Giants would be a good spot for A-Rod. With Bonds gone... they have the money and need a "name" to fill up that Ball Park. A-Rod would be a good role model for the bay area kids.
just my thoughts

As an east coast, American League fan, I'd like to see A-Rod on a west coast, National League team; in other words, as far away as possible. He's a great hitter, but he's just too high maintenance for me.
I guess it would be fun to see him on the Red Sox, as they rarely get former Yankees, but then the Boston fans would have to put up with his antics. Send him to LA, where he can spend his millions on Spandex.

Unfortunately Mick, there are only a few teams who could or would want to afford him. Of those I think they best fit would be the NY Muts. Its a big media town and the club has a big following. They are going into a new stadium in a few years so he will be a big draw for them. It would also be poetic justice for our team to play them 6 times a year. The boobirds would reign supreme.

On a personal note...I think that he should sign with the White Sox. Uribe is a great SS, but I think that he is on his way out anyway. A-Rod would definetly help them win another World Series. Just think batting 3-4-5-6 in the lineup...Konerko, Thome, A-Rod, and Dye!!!

In all honestly Mick the only team that I can see A-Rod signing with and he will be truly happy with is the CUBS......Its no secret that he loves Pinella like a father....For example when A-Rod had that lousy slump I think it was in 06 or 05 he got advice from Lou on how to handle his slump.....The Cubs are a team not be counted out....I can see A-Rod and his fragile ego being Very happy with the cubs....after all Lou will take care of him...
