Absolutely...a country is not the politics or leaders...it is a place, its people, its culture, and its history. All of the negative perceptions are opportunities for those who love the country and want to make it better.

OF COURSE!
Loving one's country is personal: your country is the land that God Put you on,it is your home, your family is on the land that God put them, your friends are on the land, if you love your family and friends, then it follows that your love of country will be evident.
What's not to love about the river Volga?
I love my country. I despise the jackals that are destroying it from within the government.
If I were Russian, I would make Goddamn sure that a Josef Stalin never got to raise up a political party,army,etc...
Loving ones country also includes protecting it from
economic, and moral decay; from national suicide,
Lastly, If I were Russian, I would stay away from amerikkka
Amerikkka is becoming a hell on earth thanks to the millions
of apathetic slaves now sitting on the couch watching state run TV!!! If you are Russian Please stay away from America....... we'll only infect you with defeat and moral decay.
YOU have been warned.

More than 10 years ago, if you asked this question, the answer would be 'yes'. B/C if the government thought otherwise, people would be jailed. But today, I think the Russian people are sick and tired of poverty, lack of opportunities, and the level of oppression, (yes there is some left) that still exists. Fighting w/ the Chechans, organized crime, compulsory military service, are all reasons not to love their country. Let's face it, doesn't everyone, want to be a Westerner?
