i live in england and i have just started a new job which they pay by cheque. i have just been payed but dnt want 2 put it in my bank because i am overdrawn a lot at the moment, and the bank will take it all off me.

i really need this money as well

You can avoid the overdraft issue for a little bit, but your current bank is going to do what they have to do to get their overdraft fees paid. They will freeze your account shortly and send you an invoice of sorts for the fees. If you do not reply, they will send the account into collections which will hurt your credit big time. I'd try to take care of this as soon as I could.

Try going to the bank the cheque was issued through!!

go to another bank and open the smallest account they have. at least trhat way you have SOME money. then, if you want, take the money out and close the account.
