Some little girl about 10 yrs old (old enough to know better for sure) was in a big group, and I was handing all the kids a few pieces, well this girl REACHED INSIDE and grabbed a handful, so I snatched it back out of her hands and said "Don't be greedy you little b----" and all them kids just froze in their tracks. One of them's mom, I guess that one girl's, said "You should be ashamed" so I thought she was talking to that girl, and I said, "I know, I'm sure you brought her up better than that." And the mom said "I meant YOU." and then they all left. Can you believe she said that? Hateful mom that's just wrong. What would you have done?

Ha, that's funny. That little kid deserved it. There are too many spoiled brats running around thinking they can just do whatever they want and their little soccer mommy will defend their actions. I'm glad you did that, I would have done the same.

Your wording could have been better, but the chastisement was very much in order!

The mother is a little git. I have 5 children that would have gone straight home if I found them doing something like that! My 9 year old gets to go to a few places to feel like she has not been left out of the fun, but then we go to vigil Mass for All Saints Day and call it a night because I can't handle the whole greedy, frantic state of the people on the streets anymore. Fortunately, we now live in a rural area and get no door knockers:)

Though she was being bad no one should have called her out of her name. You could have just said no more candy and maybe given some of the other kids just a little bit more candy so they didn't feel left out. It was wrong for her to do that and her mom was acting like that because you just called her daughter a B right in front of everyone it wasn't totally wrong but she should have told her daughter to wait. Maybe she was used to it because a lot of people let you pick out the candy you want.

That's the reason I had my lawn sprinklers on last night.
My practice was to get a hand full of treats and drop them in the bags or whatever. But after getting the is that all there is I stopped giving things out and donated candy and money to the local organizations that have "controlled" trick or treating in the sports park(different clubs-businesses-civic groups-and police and fire)with set up booths.

You were wrong to curse at a child and to call her a b---- and when you laid your hand on her that was assault by contact.
You are very lucky that the child's mother didn't call the police.
YES the child was wrong to reach inside the bag or bowl but you are an supposedly an adult. You should know that children get excited and carried away on Halloween and Christmas.
What you should have done is to have told her "please don't get overly anxious, let me do that" and then or before telling her that said something to the adult that was there with them.
You called the other mom hateful???? That's like the pot calling the kettle black .

Calling a little girl a b... is inappropriate and very wrong, and snatching it out of her hands is too.
I would have looked at her and told her to please put it back so i can give her the candy just like the other children. You get more bees with honey you know. Children are very smart and they do listen if you act right.

Wow! People didn't like what you said, huh? Well, you know what? Good for you. I don't think you should have called her that but (and it's a big butt) you're absolutely correct. She should have known better and the mother should have told her little grimey butt something.

I would just not bother to open the door. Last night I took the batteries out of the door bell and turned the light down low, and din't open the door to anyone. I know that any friends would have called me if it was them.

I think calling a chlid a b*tch is the most innappropriate thing that happened in this story. She was 10. I bet you've now ruined her halloweens to come. Way to be.
