You are probably going to think I am crazy but...

I have a hard time sleeping in my bed, I usualy prefer sleeping on the sofa...but eventually get up and go to bed...but I have a hard time sleeping in my bed because I feel like it is oriented the wrong way.

For the last seven years we have moved around alot but in every place we have lived, the bed and bedroom was in the east part of the house (if you entered from the door) and when sleeping my feet were towards the west and my head was towards the east....now, in this house, total opposite...the bed is to the west and my feet are towards the east part of the house...

I am not kidding...I have been here for about 2 or 3 months and when I lay in bed, I feel odd...like something is off...

I can't change my bed around, although I have considered sleeping with my head towards to foot of the bed but then my head is facing the door and I don't know if that would be any better...so I am just wondering...am I crazy?

Or is there something to this?

I am putting this in society and culture because I know some cultures take orientation of the home very seriously...so maybe someone can help...

Yes, in Chinese Culture we lay the dead with their feet facing the door... that's why it's taboo for Chinese to arrange the bed in such a way that your feet are facing towards the door (any door, the worst is the toilet door)... we believed that would bring extremely bad luck...

Anyhow, psychology also plays a big roll in whether you think the orientation of your bed is right or wrong. If you had a feeling that the orientation is in the wrong way, then it is in the wrong way. Bed is a place where you should be able to relax and rest, if the orientation of the bed give rise to pressure and as a result you can't seems to relax and sleep then, you probably should rearrange it. In Chinese Feng Shui (the art of the wind and water), it's actually not good to face either your head or your foot towards the door.... so, you should arrange your bed such that your body is not pointing towards the door (either your head or your feet...)

Why don't you try a different room of the house? you can always kitty corner it too if it fits that way, I understand what you're saying. For me the bedroom has to be the most comfortable room in the home and yes it should not face the door, that i do know.
I dress my bedroom up better than my other rooms because it's the place i relax the most, i surround myself with tranquil items and pics. Try that it might also help with the dilemma.

I know what you mean. You might want to read a book about Feng Shui.
