Well, I can't comment on any other countries, but I do know that Nigerians tend to find swimming more difficult than other nationalities. I live in a small, but very mixed community and all the children have swimming lessons together. The Asians and Europeans tend to be pretty much the same, but the Nigerian children have a much harder time learning the basics, and they also have problems with floating. Of course, this is a generalisation, but on the whole, I would say they are not natural swimmers. Where they completely kick *** though is on the football pitch. There's one little Nigerian boy who, at seven, can run rings round the older kids and I'd almost put money on him becoming a professional player in later years.
You might want to rethink the term "coloured" - some people see that as very offensive.

I'm going to assume that you are genuinely interested in this issue - and not just 'fishing' for racist confirmation, as many posters do. If this is the case, I agree that you need to be more careful in the way you pose a question.
I think that the reason ANY particular race of people excels in some sports and not is others is socially determined, not genetically. In other words in is about opportunity and tradition.

All humans are "coloured" smart one. If you mean black people, then yes I'm sure they could if they trained for it but not many actually compete in swimming. Isn't there a movie about this? Pride or something?

no its not true....if you play a sport from a young age you get good at it...no pools at everyones house or leisure centre...and what do you mean by the term coloured? which group are you referring to?
coloured specifically refers to mixed race people only...one white parent and one black parent...it is not a word to describe black people or people of colour...and by the way just in case no one has told you..I am telling you ...black people and asian people take offence to being referred to as coloured. And by the way what colour are you?
