Weeks start on sunday not monday! So sabat is on saturday not sunday,this is heresy all ye devout christians!
Sunday=sontag= sun day
Montag=munday= moon day
Tienstag=tuesday= Tyr's day
Mitwoch(literally midweek)=Wednsday=Wodan's day
Donnerstag (literally day of thunder)=Thursday= Day of Donar(german) also called Thor in Norse
Freitag=Friday=Day of Freya
Samstag=Saturday=Saturn's day
In the latin languages (french, italian, spanish) days are not named after the pagan norse/germanic God's but the classical gods.

How is using a name of the week derived from the name of a god honoring that god? Do you think making a comic book about Thor honors the god Thor? That naming convention is a Northern European thing. In Romantic language speaking countries, the days of the week named after the planets. It's a culture thing. Do you really think Christians should call the days of the week something different than what everyone else us using?

Thursday is named for the Norse god Thor.
For your information here are the other meanings for the rest of the week:
Sunday is the first day of the week and named after the Sun.
Monday is named after the Moon.
Tuesday is named for the day of Tiw, or Tiu, which was old Teutonic (Anglo-Saxon) deity. Tiu identifies with the Norse god of war and sky, Ty.
Wednesday is named after Woden. Woden is named for the chief Norse god. In old English it is written as Odin.
Friday is named after the Norse goddess Frigg, or Frigga. Frigg was the wife of Wodin, or Odin, and the goddess of marriage.
Saturday in Roman mythology, Saturn was the planetary god of agriculture.
Hope that helps. Blessed Be X

Well Thursday is ruled by Jupiter who was associated with Thor in Nothern Europe. In English it's Thor's Day, which is Thursday
In French Juedi which is derived from Jupiter.
I could never remember what the days of the week in foreign European Languages until I realised that they are all likewise named after the day's ruling planets/Deity (largely from Latin).
