Can you believe this? Labour nitwits are trying to ban christmas celebrations so we dont upset immigrants in this country!!! This is a christian country and they kew that when they came here. There is no way other cultures would ban their religious holidays incase it upsets us.
Isn't this just bloody stupid.

I'm going to keep my answer short otherwise I'll end up writing a rant essay.
I don't believe that this would happen, its rediculous.
However if it did happen:
This country was formed on the basis of Christian beliefs and for hundreds of years most people living here were devout Christians. Nowadays, Christmas is mainly just a commercial affair, but it still brings a lot of happiness to alot of people in this country.
The government is walking on eggshells about all religions that have started to appear in this country, but it isn't as sensitive about the religion that formed the country in the first place. They are too afraid of offending anyone belonging to a non-white or non-christian culture.
There would be an uproar, riots etc if the government wanted to ban even the smallest traditions belonging to other religions.
This is political-correctness gone mad.

I don't think they should ban it, but it isn't a religious holiday either. It has some serious pagan roots and it doesn't fit with the biblical account of Jesus Birth. The Shepard's were out tending their flocks by night, this was not done in December because it is the rainy season. The latest this would have been done is in October. The only reason this date was chosen was because the Catholic church wanted Pagans to join the church and the pagans didn't want to give up their celebrations. So, Catholicism took their statues and changed them into "Christian saints and gods" and they took their celebration to the sun god and changed it to the Celebration to the Son of God.
If you read a Biblical account of some of the takeovers the Jews were told to do of other area's, they were always told to destroy their idols and not to take part in their customs. So, this is is not exactly a Christian celebration.

It is not only stupid-it is hypocrisy. And I think Eva Braun (or whatever the British PM's name is) should be pressurized to apologize to all British who celebrate Christmas.

Not that it would surprise me...cause nothing surprises me anymore where the Immigrants Welfare is concerned....the rest of us are just surplus to requirements now in the UK.....and it won't improve!
If what you say is true..then it just confirms my belief and reasons for getting out of this lost country ASAP!
