convert everything into days. there are 24 hours in a day, so, divide 8 hrs. by 24 hrs. to figure out that 8 hrs. is 1/3 of a full day. so, you have a total of 4 and 1/3 days. multiply that by 1440 watt-hours to get how many watt-hours get consumed.

4 1/3 * 1440 = 6240 watt-hours

it depends on some conditions here. if the current of the light is too much as in my area often , then your bulb has to get blown b/c it will consume more than 1440 wts then u have to buy a new bulb. if the current is too low as in my neighboring town, then it will consume less 1440 watts then your answer will not be correct. this is from a scientific rather than a mathematical point of view.

Per day consumption --> 1440 watts-hours
per hour consumption ---> 1440/24 = 60 watts
4days + 8hours --> 104 hours
total watt-hours consumption in 4days & 8hrs
= 104*60 = 6240
