I was on the pill for 7 years and had no problems. About 3 months ago I started having cramps midway through my cycle. I then was naseaus, lightheaded and had a bachache. Everything I read said I could be preg. so I stopped taking the pill. A week later I got my period. My husband and I decided to start trying to have kids so I never went back on the pill. For the past two months about midway through my cycle I get horrible cramps (in the middle and on both sides) and I get lightheaded and nauseas. This lasts up until I get my period (about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks) This month I had a fever (there was a cold going around work so that may not even be related). My periods have been normal (much more cramping than when I was on the pill). We have had unprotected sex so pregnancy is always an option, but the pain has been the same each month. I hate going to the dr's - should I go or is this normal?

I just got up from writing this question and almost vomitted as well - that was enough to scare me. I will be calling the Dr. today, but if anyone has ever experienced the same thing or knows what is going on with me please feel free to share.

I have diagnosed endometriosis and get terrible ovulation pain. The pain is worse then my period cramps.

Its from scar tissue forming on the ovaries from the endometriosis.

Endo is a surgical diagnosis although there are 'symptoms' that can help point the doctors in that direction.

Talk to your dr and see what they recommend

I have experienced really bad pain with ovulation too for years along with terrible period cramps. I have had nausea and lower back pain too, although not specifically on the days I used to ovulate, but throughout my cycle.

I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis after struggling for a year to find out what was causing my pain.

I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor/gyneacologist so they can run some tests to help you find out what could be causing this.

Good luck :)

Is your cycle regular? That might be either side effects of the contraceptive pills or you secrete too much prostaglandin, which cause your uterus to strongly contracts giving you the pain.
See the doctor? Why not? See if you have any serious problems. Who knows? What I've mentioned above it's common stuff. Also it may be important to know whether there are problems hindering you to become pregnant.

What you are experiencing is not normal and needs to be evaluated by your doctor to see what they think could be going on. One possibility based on your symptoms is that of endometriosis.
