Bullying is bullying. It appears to me that either they don't realize or don't care that the people they are attacking have their own lives and their own problems, they don't know what the problems are or how difficult someones lives may already be at that moment. It's wrong and callous

What are these old peoples posts that have been handed over to BT? If you actually mean someone has been reported to Yahoo for a violation that's an entirely different matter. And who is the lady? No-one is "run off" the site, they can always choose not to contrbute any more . . .

For those who think that the bullying 'only' results in hurt feelings they should think again. The courts now award compensation for hurt feelings.
However, when someone's character is torn to shreds and that person is persistently accused of all sorts of activities and deeds which they have not committed then that is harrassment.
The sneers aimed at those people who try and defend anyone being bullied is also extremely unacceptable and hardly reflects a sensible and adult outlook on the part of the bullies and their hangers on.
This is a free forum for the benefit of all to use. It is not a forum for the chosen few. Everyone has a right to contribute and even indulge in heated debate, providing that it is not abusive. We all make errors of judgment at times but some of do at least recognise our mistakes.

Get a grip! Nothing of that magnitude has happened here.
As someone above says, feelings may have been hurt, that's all.
Its not a crime, toughen up. I doubt you will get far in your pursuit for prosecution!
I am not part of anybodys gang, I just think these kind of Qs stir more and it would die down if it wasn't resurrected every other day. People have apologised, certain people who wanted to leave got upset, and decided to stay, but wanted a truce!
*edit* morning Chris, watched Most Haunted last night! For Hallowe'en you know, lol x

Oh come ON!
This is another liberal politically correct nanny-state you can't-sing baa baa black sheep for fear of offending someone who is looking to be offended kind of post.
When you post anything remotely controversial in a public forum you throw yourself to the wolves. If you don't like it, leave.
I'm not condoning bullying, but we are all anonymous on here and there's a massive difference between someone being berated on here and a 14 year old being taunted in their house by people he/she is going to have to see face-to-face the next day.
I think that comparing the two is belittling a genuine problem.

OMG are you for real.
You are instigating an argument, naming names and are insulting posters.
And you have handed over a file to BT Abuse.ha ha ha DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH.
The pejorative remarks i have had to endure, along with the other people you have mentioned in a previous post, far outweigh anything that was ever said to anyone.
I suggest you take a long hard look at yourselves before censuring any input from any poster on here.

I understand your concern but you have to learn to have a thick skin. If you dont like this site and what goes on its like the tv set - switch off the computer and do something else. What you see as bullying others see as challenging. Abuse can be reported - so I would say you have to options - stay and grow a thick skin in the pursuit of knowledge - use the report button when abused badly, or switch off your machine - its not a life support mate
