The Elder Wand was actually Dumbledore's, but when Draco disarmed him while they were on top of the Lightning struck tower the wand gave it's allegiance to him. After this Snape killed Dumbledore on the latter's order and the wand became Malfoy's even though he did not know about it. The wand was kept along with Dumbledore after his death.
After that in the 7th book when Harry snatched Malfoy's regular wand from him, the Elder Wand became his without Harry knowing about it.

Ok, the Elder wand belonged to the wand maker that made the wands for the kids at Durmstrang. Grindelwald stole this wand from him, so the wand passed onto him. Then, when Dumbledore and Grindewald dueled, the wand became Dumbledore's. Then in book 6 when Draco Malfoy dissarmed Dumbledore, the Elder wand passed onto Draco Malfoy (only thing, is he did not know that he was getting the Elder Wand). So, then Snape killed Dumbledore but the wand already had a new master. So, when Harry took Draco's wand this was actually the Elder Wand (unknown to Harry at the time). So, Harry ended up with the Elder Wand without knowing it untill he sat down and figured the mystery of the deathly Hallows, then it hit him, that Draco had dissarmed Dumbledore, and now he had taken this wand from Draco by force, so now the Elder Wand wielded its power to him.

Dumbledore was the wands first master in the book. However, Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore, when he did, he became the owner of the elder wand.

the elder wand belonged to dumbledore. when malfoy disarmed him in hp6, malfoy became the elder wand's master. but, he didn't know anything about wand lore so the wand was buried along with dumbledore. now, going into hp7 there are two wands that has loyalty to malfoy. the elder wand which voldemort took from dumbledore's grave and the one that malfoy bought way back at ollivander's (this was the wand that harry took from malfoy at the mansion). this is why, when harry and voldemort battled again in the waning chapters of hp7, voldemort couldn't finish harry off (besides due to the sacrifice he made in the forest) since both their wands have loyalty to malfoy. the elder wand, since voldemort didn't really win it from malfoy and the other wand was still in the process of changing loyalties from malfoy to harry.

The first master of the Elder Wand is Antioch Peverell, who made it. (According to the link below, I did not find the name in DH).
It eventually came to Dumbledore, who defeated Grindelwald. Draco Malfoy then defeated Dumbledore (by disarming him--Dumbledore being too weak from the potion in the cave to defend himself), just before Dumbledore's death in HBP.

Dumbledore was the master of the wand .In Half Blood Prince when Harry and Dumbledore return on their mission and they land on the tower. Dumbledore stuns harry and he slumps into the shadows so tha Draco doesnt see him. As Dumbledore is stunning Harry, Draco casts an expelliumas spell at Dumbles making him master of the wand because he disarmed Dumbles

Dumbledore was its master before Malfoy. How Malfoy became its master after Dumbledore died is because, even though Snape killed Albus, it was Malfoy's duty to kill Albus and Snape was only doing it because of a magical oath. It's all very confusing.
