I'm 17 weeks pregnant tomorrow and last week I heard the heart beat at my midwife appointment. Thing is, I havent started to show at all, sometimes my stomach goes hard then other times it is still 'normal'. I am quite tall 5'10" and a normal weight. I havent felt it move yet either. Should I be worried and whats other peoples experience at this time?

Don't worry about it. At about 18 weeks i started having a small bump, but you wouldn't have been able to tell i was pregnant. Just looked like i ate too much. I am also 5'10" and weighed about 120 lbs before i got pregnant. I am now 31 and a half weeks pregnant and even though i do have a bump and there is no hiding the pregnancy it is still quite small compared to most women.
I had a scan 2 days ago and baby is perfect weight and length, aready weighing 3 lbs which is normal at this stage. I asked the doctor if everything was ok because bump seems quite small still and the doctor told me since i am quite tall and i didn't put any excess weight on the bump won't be very large.
Until week 20 your pelvis is still able to contain your uterus and if you are anything like me around week 22 it will just pop and you will wonder where the bump came from.
It was also 18 weeks before i felt the baby move and it is normal for a first pregnancy to feel the baby between 18-22 weeks.
Best of luck and congrats!

17 weeks is still early on in your pregnancy. Movements aren't usually felt until around 20 weeks. You will probably start to feel movements in a few weeks time. And its very normal not to show at this point. When I was 17 weeks I had only put on 3 pounds and I had a totally flat stomach. A few weeks later my tummy popped out and by the end...I was the size of a house! Enjoy it!
The hardeness you sometimes feel are probably braxton hicks.

Don't worry, we are all so different and this is not unusual. I am also 17 weeks and look like a balloon (this is my second) but I was a little overweight to start with. My sister is 10 weeks ahead of me and only started showing at arond 20 weeks! Event hen she went to see her good friend who didn't know she was pg, and she didn't even notice! Often if you have good stomach muscles, and your tummy was flat to start with, you don't show as early as those muscles are still hanging in there, holding it all in! As you heard the heartbeat you know there is nothing ot worry about, and one doesn't tend to feel first babies moving until a little later anyway (I didn't feel my first till about 22 weeks)

Please try not to worry. I know it's so easy to think about what might happen but the fact is you're over the danger zone of the first 12 weeks and into the nice part now! Try to relax and enjoy it! Good luck!

Hi I'm 18 weeks pregnant today, and am still in my ordinary jeans, I'm 5'7 and normally a size 10. Just yesterday I noticed when I lie down my belly doesn't disappear! I have the smallest bump now! Still haven't felt the baby move yet, although I have had a few moments when I'm not sure if it's flutters or wind!!!

Oh, sweetheart, that need to be quite terrible. You're having this sort of difficult time correct now and you just cannot suppose clearly in any respect. But suppose me, you'll get better; please do not kill your self, your baby's dad is not valued at ending your existence. Proper now, your child's father is solely being a jerk. It seems like he had at first desired to break things off with you, for the reason that that's a lovely silly rationale to dump anybody else. Right now, take a deep breath and just do what you can to support calm your self down. Take a bath, watch tv, write about how you suppose, and so forth. Just take every week off to get yourself together.

Because you are so tall the baby has a lot more room to hide. Usually shorter people show quicker as there isn't so much torso room to hide the bump. 17 weeks is still early and you will definately pop out sometime in the next 6-8weeks so don't worry.

My daughter is 17w4d and she just started looking pregnant this week. We take pictures of her every Sunday and this one you can see a difference. And she thinks she may have felt the baby move but she's really not sure, it is so light at this stage, it kinda feels like a feather.
I am very short and thin (5'1" and 100lbs) and I wore my regular clothes until I was 5 and a half months. Don't worry. It's still very soon. Congrats.

I'm a normal weight too and didn't show until 22 weeks and could've easily hidden bump until 26 weeks, was really impatient to get a bump and loved having one when I eventually I got it! Think i felt first movement at around 19 weeks, not long for you to go now....congratulations!

See all babies develop differently. I heard my baby move like thrice and that was in my 7th - 8th month. My stomach showed in the 8th month, It was really tiny before. So i thought my baby would be really tiny but he was 3.1kgs. Then when the stomach is hard just know your baby's doing some little movements. Otherwise do not worry, worrying just makes everything seem impossible
