i think he got off early this year or early 2006, he was sent away for accusations of rape and murder.

its a true story not a movie of a song, he only got released in the last 24 months because they developed new DNA technolgy that proved he was innocent.

Darryl Hunt, convicted in 1984 of the rape and murder of Deborah Sykes, spent 19 years in prison, 9 of which were served after DNA evidence indicated that he did not commit the rape.

It reminds me of this movie based on a true story about a black boxer that was wrongly accused, then some Canadian lawyers took up his case and got him out a few years ago. I think Denzel Washington played the boxer, but sorry, can't recall the name. But I think that's the case you might be after.

Don't know the name you are searching for, but the first thought I had was "Hurricane". Bob Dylan had a very famous song out back in the seventies. I understand this "boxer" served the time and was finally released, but not before time. Very sad.
