Here in the USA, some older people say: "I don't buy green bananas anymore", they mean that they are so old and would die any day...why waste them? For you answers I am assumming that "youse" are not aware of this saying....I thought was cute when my older neighbo told me that! lol Judas' answer kinda leads me to believe that he knows the meaning...but, again...is Judas...so who really knows? lol!

I sometimes buy a mixture so they don't all ripen at the same time. If there are green ones, I stick them in a brown paper bag and they ripen on their own.

Yes.
Better that way. I can let them rip as I g along eating one at a time, or else by the time I get to the last few, they are all over-ripe and too soft or inedible.

Only if I don't plan on eating them for a few days. They have to be just the right shade of yellow for me to eat them.
