Your hormones may be out of whack. If that's so, it could have:
A: given you a false positive on the pregnancy test.
B: given you a "false" period. Was your last period in any way weird? Lighter than normal, shorter than normal? It is possible you could have been pregnant before that period, you had a false period, and now your body is acting weird. I had a false period once (about three days, pretty light), and then a miscarriage a few weeks later. Totally surprised me because the doc said it was 7 weeks along.
Try the test again tomorrow, then if it's still positive, go see a doctor for more options.

Sperm can live for awhile and condoms don't always work. Thats why they say abstinence is the only way to be100% protected! Your body was made to reproduce and it can find a way to do it. You can't really predict when you are going to ovulate (without extra observation/tests). Every cycle can throw you a curveball and you can ovulate a few days sooner/later than you usually do. So having sex during/right after your period *can* be safe if you know that you usually ovulate on day 16, but what if this is the one cycle where you ovulate on day 11? 2) Before ovulation, your body produces mucus that makes it easy for sperm to survive in your body for up to 5-7 days. So you could have sex on Monday, ovulate on Thursday, and on Friday, while watching a movie, you get pregnant. Especially if you have irregular periods than you are really screwed!
By the way it could be possible you were pregnant before you had your period many people get their periods while pregnant.

everyones cycle is different. not every one ovulates on the same day or time. and sperm can live up to at least 3 days inside you. the 2 weeks is a guide to help you, but it dosent go to show for all women. also its 2 weeks after the day of your first period. so you count the whole week (or however long your period is) into thouse 2 weeks. sometimes its even a few days after your period. sorry but like i said, everyone is different. if you where gonna try the counting method you should have talked to your doctor about it to get your ovulation pinpointed.

The whole ovulation thing is a myth to me.
Many women become pregnant on, just before or just after their menstrual cycle. When a womans period is late or comes early one month, it's all due to when she ovulated. For example, If you ovulated early this month, your period would come early, same as if you ovulated later, your period would come later. Unless you were charting your fertile days (with a thermometer) there is absolutely no way you can know forsure when you were or when you werent ovulating.

I know people that got pregnant during their period. You can't always base things on periods because if it was going to happen then it will happen. Sometimes during a period the egg does not leave the body. Sometimes the egg stays and people could get pregnant. If it's possible then it could happen.

It's possible to get pregnant at any time. Literally. Even during your period. While there are times that it's less likely, there is never a time when sex absolutely won't result in pregnancy.

Taking note of where you are in your menstrual cycle is how the rhythm method of birth control works. As that is the only method approved by the Catholic Church, you now know why many Catholic families have lots of children. As I read somewhere, that little egg ain't got no rhythm!
Next, the sperm can hang out for a couple of days before they get to the egg, so you can add that to your time frame.
Third, when did your partner put the condom on? If his uncovered penis even got to the outside of your vagina, you most definitely could have collected a bunch of swimmers from him before he covered up. Ejaculation is not required.
Every woman who absolutely does not want to get pregnant needs to remember that, in order to survive, a species must procreate. Short of sterilization, there is no method of birth control that your body isn't capable of, at some point, getting around. (My niece was born, as my sister likes to joke, with her Mommy's IUD in her fist. I have three grandchildren who should be listed in the encyclopaedia under "Condom Failure".) Life will find a way.
Sex is great, especially for the guy, while women take all of the big risks, from disease to pregnancy. There is only one method that protects you from all of it, and that's keeping his out of yours. There are other paths to sexual fulfillment. Or you could join a bowling league.
Best wishes for you and your precious cargo!
