People of the Indus River Valley represented the earliest city/civilization (ca.3300 BCE)...

However, on the way from Africa to Australia, the people who would become the Aboriginals, would have been the first to pass through India's coastline on foot, and many probably stayed. This was between 60-75,000 years ago...

DNA evidence has proven a direct connection between the people of New Guinea & Australia, with the Eastern coast of Africa, and there weren't any cruise ships back then...

Well, the Indus Valley civilization is the first known in India so I'd guess that.
